'Sharing Gods Love' Weekend
4th - 6th April 2008
This was led by the Lay Witness Movement.
The weekend was a big success. We were so pleased with the attendance and we have already heard from many people
saying how much they got out of it. I, and so many others, felt a real sense of sharing, fellowship and unity.
Several people commented that we got to know each other on a whole new level ; a much deeper, and more spiritual
level.
The thanksgiving service after the team left went really well. It felt different in so many good ways.
Several people stood up a shared aspects of their journey, or their feelings about the weekend ; plus a lot of
people contributed to the prayers, which was great.
We would like to thank you for the time people gave us and the story they shared.
Everything was done with a sense of prayer and God's peace. We felt that God was at work over the weekend.
In the groups and over the meal tables, conversations took place and barriers were broken down leading to a deeper
sense of understanding and love in our fellowship. It was a time when individual lives were touched and faith renewed.
One lady left from the church a couple of years ago to new age religion but as a result of the weekend wants to know
more about Christ and Christianity. She said that the weekend has challenged her to think seriously about her calling
to be a real Christian.
Someone else mentioned that she has been coming to church for the last 30-40 years without understanding her Christian
journey. Another said that it had been a very refreshing weekend to see and share with so many of her friends, and to
learn and understand each other.
We hope this gives you a sense of some of the feedback we have already received about the weekend and the
part that everyone played in making it such a success. The key now is to build on this through spending more time
in fellowship and sharing our personal stories much more openly as the team members did on the weekend.

"I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. I was very impressed at the work done by all of you in preparation, and very surprised at the number of people who came to the various sessions. It was nice to experience the atmosphere of St.John's, and I hope, very much, that the feeling of mutual love, support and concern for each other
is something that will not be easily or quickly lost."
